51st Annual Day – 2014
Date: 09.08.2014
Venue: SAC Building
The variety entertainment programme was presented by three sections of Vana Vani School. The theme of the programme was “Roots”.
Roots are the most vital part of a plant or tree. They anchor the tree to the ground and transport the vital nutrients to the top.
The same theory proves to be right for any organization. The roots or foundation is very necessary for the quality of the Results. The brick of this foundation are Art, Science, Mathematics, Technology and physical education. Together they are cemented and carry the results to the top. As Aristotle says, “The roots of education are bitter but the fruit is sweet”.
The different programme laid emphasis on these issues. Yoga is a 5000 year old tradition. The panchatantra and Jataka Tales are the ancient moral stories of India and are incorporated in the Karadi path learning. Traditional practices in dress, food, farming are time tested truths.
Music is divinity itself the flute veena and the mrindangam are part of our hoary past.
Mathematician was born and nurtured in our country.
These are the roots which keep us rooted.
The fairest thing a flower (Vana Vani) still has its roots inside the brown earth manured.
